Rape defendant thought victim pretending to snore as part of role-play, court hears

Four other men are on trial at Winchester Crown Court accused of sexually abusing Joanne Young, who has waived her right to anonymity.

The jury were warned at the beginning of the trial that the video evidence they see will be so graphic they may want to look away but the prosecution told them they must watch because these things are not staged or being performed; they are really happening.

Today, a video of Joanne Young allegedly being raped while she’s heard snoring was played in court.
