What’s next for Lindsey Vonn? A ninth surgery, recovery, then ‘we’ll see’

For months, Lindsey Vonn’s social media has painted a portrait of an ever-upward climb back to something like normalcy.

There she is, cranking away in the gym, performing squats with so many wheels of weight on either end of a barbell, smacking tennis balls or looking resplendent in cocktail attire. She even launched a new relationship with French Alpine skier Matthieu Bailet.

Meanwhile, another difficult period in Vonn’s recovery from a devastating crash in the downhill at the Milan Cortina Olympics in February loomed.
