And then, finally, the Hurricanes’ defense made the play of the game and the offense delivered the final blow.

Edge rusher Marquise Lightfoot strip-sacked North Carolina quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., defensive tackle Justin Scott recovered the ball and Malachi Toney caught his second touchdown of the game to lift the top-ranked Hurricanes to a 38-35 win over the Tar Heels.
