Deepinder Goyal is hitting back at doctors calling his Rs 85,000 Temple wearable a scam. He says he has invested $20 million of his own money into the project and insists its science will stand up to scrutiny. However, some doctors are still not convinced.
Deepinder Goyal's Temple is gearing up for its launch, and while some corners of the internet seem excited about the wearable, others are raising questions about its science, with some even calling it a scam. Now, the Zomato founder is hitting back at doctors questioning the technology behind Temple, his Rs 85,000 brain-monitoring wearable. Responding to the criticism, Goyal has defended the device, saying he has invested $20 million of his own money into the project and is confident that its science will stand up to scrutiny.
Update: Deepinder Goyal has announced that he is going to reveal the reason for creating Temple. "A lot of you have pinged me to ask - why are you doing Temple? Why did you leave a ~$35b company you founded 18 years ago to chase a niche health wearable?" he wrote on X. Goyal claimed that he was working on the draft with plans to upload it in the next couple of hours. The Zomato co-founder also took a jibe at critics. "PS – holier-than-thou Indian doctors can skip this lol," he added.
