Nasdaq closes in correction territory on Wall Street’s worst day since April 2025

Investing.com -- Wall Street on Thursday posted its worst day since just after "Liberation Day" in April 2025, as a slide in the artificial intelligence trade from the previous session went into overdrive.

A day after a sweeping Democratic victory in the U.S. midterm elections removed a significant degree of uncertainty from markets, investors paid more attention to the possible political ramifications of the sweep.

With the Democrats now in control of both chambers of Congress, market participants were concerned that the party could pursue greater regulation of the AI system and attempt to slow down the proliferation of massive data centers.
