Cook's Seafood closes in Menlo Park, Pleasanton
San Francisco Chronicle · Aviva Bechky ·
The seafood market and restaurant had operated in Menlo Park for 98 years. It launched a second location in Pleasanton last year. Now both are closed.
A seafood restaurant and fish market that served Menlo Park for almost a century closed both of its locations Wednesday.
Cook’s Seafood, which opened its Menlo Park location in 1928, was a staple for fresh seafood and fish and chips for generations of customers. Just last year, it expanded to Pleasanton after a protracted, yearslong delay. But a sign in the Menlo Park location’s window Thursday announced that both restaurants had closed, according to a photo shared with the Chronicle and posted on Nextdoor.
“As you know, this year has been very difficult for restaurants,” the sign read. “Our Team thanks you for all your years of visiting us, and we’ll miss you.”
