Houston's congressional delegation will be comprised of four Democrats and six Republicans, and includes five freshman lawmakers.

Half of Houston’s seats in the U.S. House of Representatives will be held by freshmen lawmakers after Tuesday’s midterm elections, with several incumbents retiring or losing their primaries.

Four of the region’s 10 seats will be represented by Democrats, who managed to overcome Republican redistricting efforts to hold onto all their seats in Congress amid a historic blue wave.
