There is still concern over the state of bridges in Dumfries and Galloway after major inspection failures were discovered.

Dumfries and Galloway Council is facing serious questions over bridge safety after an external review uncovered major inspection failures.

The review warned that if an incident were to happen, the council would struggle to show it had taken reasonable care to manage and maintain those structures.

But as councillors spent hours questioning officers, it became clear there are still more questions than answers.
