‘Godzilla Minus Zero’ Makes the US Military a Villain

Nov. 3 was an important date for me. Yes, it was the US midterm elections, but it was also the 72nd birthday of Godzilla. I celebrated with tickets to an IMAX screening of Godzilla Minus Zero in Leicester Square here in London, a long way from the theater in downtown Manila where my father took me in 1965 to see Godzilla vs. The Thing (aka Mothra vs. Godzilla), the first movie I saw starring the radioactive heavy-breather.
