The Club's 10 things to watch Friday, Nov. 6 — Today's newsletter was written by Investing Club editors Kevin Stankiewicz and Matthew J. Belvedere. 1. Nasdaq futures are rebounding this morning after the tech-heavy index had its worst day in 19 months on postelection concerns about a data center buildout slowdown. There weren't many places to hide in yesterday's market. But it seems too early to trust this rebound and declare yesterday the washout. Need to see if we are through the liquidations. 2. Very strong October jobs report : nonfarm payrolls rose by 165,000 versus the Dow Jones consensus of 59,000. The unemployment rate also ticked down to 4.1% from 4.2% in the prior month. Big upward revisions to the August and September reports. The 10-year Treasury yield is jumping in response. New inflation data will be in focus next week. Odds of a December Fed rate hike moved up to 75%, per the CME FedWatch tool . 3. Iren , one of the neoclouds in the blast zone, reported better-than-expected revenue last night. Also cut its capital expenditure outlook in a disciplined move. Shares are soaring 16%, though that's barely making a dent in its plunge since September. Demand for compute is not a problem. CEO Daniel Roberts said on the call that they just re-contracted Nvidia H100s at double the original pricing. 4. With the turbulence hitting the AI trade, some investors are skeptical that Anthropic would be able to fetch a $1.5 trillion valuation in an IPO, The Wall Street Journal reported last night . The AI lab had reportedly been targeting a debut this month. Our question: Would Anthropic take a discount to get the deal done, or try to wait it out? 5. Best numbers of the night: Airbnb . Third-quarter results topped expectations, as did the fourth-quarter guide. Also hiked its full-year outlook. Shares are up roughly 14% this morning. Travel bull market intact? "We're now back in growth mode," CEO Brian Chesky told Jim Cramer last night. Chesky said they're embracing AI and seeing results on the customer service and software development side. 6. Moderna reported better-than-expected results and lifted its 2026 guidance this morning, sending the stock up almost 3%. International sales of Covid vaccines driving the results. The long-term story here, though, is about its cancer vaccine being co-developed with Merck . Encouraging results in melanoma are why shares are up almost four-fold since mid-August. Also studying it in lung cancer. Investor day coming up next week. 7. DraftKings is down more than 25% after the sportsbook posted light revenue and a wider-than-expected adjusted EBITDA loss for the third quarter. Cut its full-year outlook for both metrics, too. DraftKings is spending big to build up its prediction markets business, chasing Polymarket and Kalshi. FanDuel parent Flutter is doing the same. These stocks have been crushed over the past year and Jim has been saying stay away. 8. Pet owner spend is not wavering. Elanco Animal Health beat on quarterly earnings and revenue and raised guidance. New medicines are winning share. The company cited parasite protection Credelio Quattro and dermatology treatment Zenrelia. The former has become Elanco's best-selling U.S. product, overtaking the Seresto flea and tick collar. 9. Eli Lilly is expanding its relationship with Hims & Hers . The new agreement gives patients a path to the self-pay price for the drugmaker's GLP-1 injectable Zepbound and the Foundayo pill without leaving the Hims & Hers platform. Foundayo has been gaining traction, helping send the Club stock pretty much straight up since mid-September. We booked some big profits yesterday but still love the name. 10. Big day for the Investing Club today: our Annual Meeting livestream begins at 10:30 a.m. ET. Still time to sign up and join the Club if you have not already. Jim and portfolio director Jeff Marks will talk about how to handle this volatile moment for the stock market and give their latest thinking on our portfolio names.
