The recommendation covers "Traditional knowledge and skills associated with the production of hanji and related cultural practices in the Republic of Korea."
The final decision will be made by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage at its 21st session, scheduled for Nov. 30 to Dec. 5 in Xiamen, China. The committee rarely overturns recommendations made by its evaluation body.
