Karatsu festival attracts crowds as historic floats proceed

KARATSU, Saga Prefecture—Fourteen ornate floats accompanying portable shrines called Omikoshi paraded through the streets of the former castle town here on Nov. 3 during the annual Karatsu Kunchi autumn festival, which is a UNESCO intangible cultural asset.
