Derek and Jordanna Gibeault first met in 2017, but it wasn’t until 2023 that they reconnected and began dating. They had both recently left relationships – and homes that they owned with their exes – and were living out of separate Airbnbs. At the time, Derek, who works as an oil field electrician, was sent to work sites all over Alberta for weeks at a time and was living between Edmonton and Calgary while Jordanna was based in Red Deer.
