Police said they were keeping an open mind as to whether the attempted ram raids were linked.

Police are investigating three ram-raids on cash machines in three days after a string of overnight attacks across the east of England.

The latest incident saw thieves target a Nationwide building society in Whittlesey, Cambridgeshire, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Police were called to the branch in High Causeway at around 3am, where a yellow telehandler had been abandoned outside.
