Nine men are on trial at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court accused of committing various offences involving sexual offending on the man’s wife.

A woman drugged and raped by her husband for 20 years was “debriefed” about his offending soon after he was arrested at their home, a court has heard.

Prosecutors said the knock on the front door of their house in Stockport, Greater Manchester, in October 2025, was the moment when “the life she knew ended”.

The arrest came after undercover journalists in Germany infiltrated a chat group on messaging app Telegram for those interested in sex with someone asleep or unconscious.
