Ted Cruz slams Trump's tariffs and says Iran war needs to end

The senior senator said he's talked to James Talarico and is ready to work with him to "benefit Texas."

U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz said it was hard to utter the truth that he now faces.

“Texas is blue,” he said on his podcast The Verdict. “That is not something I ever thought I would say.”

But he also said he understands why Democrats were able to flip every statewide office in Tuesday's midterm election. Even as voters were struggling to pay for gas, groceries and child care, he said, many Republican candidates were talking about other issues.
