Venture Global begins commercial operations for Plaquemines LNG Phase 1

The first post-COD cargo departed Plaquemines LNG on Nov. 1, lifted by Shell.

Venture Global on Oct. 30, 2026, began commercial operations of the first phase of its second LNG export project, Plaquemines LNG, and the sale of LNG to the first phase’s long-term customers.

The first post-commercial operations date (COD) cargo from Plaquemines Phase 1 departed Nov. 1, and was lifted by Shell plc, the company said in a release earlier this week.

Venture Global had been exporting LNG from Plaquemines LNG since December 2024 during commissioning, selling cargoes into the spot market.
