Mrs Khan Uyghur Cuisine in Menlo Park has closed

Mrs Khan in Menlo Park has closed. It was one of a handful of Uyghur restaurants in the Bay Area.

The Bay Area only has a handful of restaurants devoted to Uyghur cuisine — and one of them has closed.

Mrs Khan Uyghur Cuisine at 712 Santa Cruz Ave. in Menlo Park, which was included in the Chronicle’s 2026 Top 100 Restaurants in the Bay Area, recently shuttered and reopened this month as Dragon General, a Chinese restaurant, according to the Almanac News. A Mrs Khan co-owner decided to reinvent the restaurant because she could not find a chef familiar with Uyghur cooking, the Almanac reported.

The owners did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
