BofA raises Shift4 Payments stock price target on core strength
Investing.com - BofA Securities raised its price target on Shift4 Payments Inc. (NYSE:FOUR) to $43 from $42 while maintaining a Neutral rating on the stock. The company currently trades at a P/E ratio of 66.5, though InvestingPro analysis suggests the stock remains undervalued at current levels, with shares down 32% year-to-date.
The firm’s analyst Matt O’Neill noted that the company’s third-quarter results landed in line with guidance. The focus shifted to fourth-quarter guidance, which implies gross revenue less network fees growth slowing to approximately 3% to 5% on a reported basis, or roughly 2% to 4% organically, down from 9% organic growth in the third quarter. Notably, 7 analysts have revised their earnings estimates downwards for the upcoming period, according to InvestingPro Tips.
The fourth-quarter guidance also suggests adjusted EBITDA margin falling to approximately 46% from roughly 50% last year. BofA Securities attributed the reset primarily to one-time factors including travel disruption, foreign exchange impacts, and deliberate revenue choices by management.
