Leisure centre facing another major rebuild as roof set to be replaced

Defects have been found in the roof of a Dumfries and Galloway leisure centre.

A leisure centre which cost £17.3 million to build, and then needed a £19.3 million repair programme after serious construction failures, is facing yet more major building work.

Dumfries and Galloway Council has announced plans to replace the rotunda roof at the DG1 Leisure Complex after it said problems had been identified.

Work expected to begin in summer 2027.
