Bob Dylan met Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican Wednesday.
"Today, I accompanied Bob Dylan to meet Pope Leo, together with Andrea Monda (editor of Vatican daily L'Osservatore Romano)," wrote Father Antonio Spadaro, editor in chief of the Jesuit-affiliated journal La Civiltà Cattolica, on social media, where he also shared two photos of Dylan (wearing a black hood) and Leo.
"It was an incredibly moving experience—a meeting that felt truly historic—with the constant sense that, with every step taken through the Apostolic Palace, anything could happen!" The legendary 85-year-old singer-songwriter, who won the 2016 Nobel prize for literature, went through a deeply Christian phase in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
