Trump Posts 3 After Midterm Defeat Contrasts with 168 daily posts as Republicans suffer historic midterm losses

U.S. President Donald Trump, who previously flooded social media with dozens to hundreds of political messages daily, has become noticeably quiet following a historic midterm election defeat. During his second term, he posted up to 168 posts in a single day, but on the 5th, two days after the midterms (local time), he only shared 3 posts by the afternoon. This marks the first time Trump has posted single-digit posts in a day.

Trump posted 3 cases on Truth Social at 4:52 a.m., 8:22 a.m., and 8:40 a.m. on that day, with no further posts in the afternoon.

The first post at 4:52 a.m. shared conservative commentator Joel Pollak’s justification for the midterm defeat. Pollak argued, “Trump was elected to do politically difficult but necessary things. Securing the border is ugly, and fighting Iran costs dearly,” adding, “The Republican Party paid the price tonight. The benefits will stay with us for generations.” Trump re-shared this interpretation, framing the election loss as a political cost for long-term national interests rather than policy failure.
