- The DA tightened its grip on Cape Town with 60.98% of the vote, up from 58.22% in 2021, while the ANC nearly halved from 18.63 to 10.2% and the EFF slipped from 4.13 to 3.06%. GOOD dropped from 3.8 to 2.6%.
- GOOD secretary-general Brett Herron blamed turnout he said favoured wealthier suburbs over the Cape Flats and a crowded ballot of 55 parties splitting the opposition vote.
- ANC provincial leader Jerimia Thuynsma admitted the result was disappointing and said the party could not pretend otherwise, calling for serious introspection.
