Chelsea star left out for Croatia and Spain games despite medical checks this week

Thomas Tuchel has explained why Cole Palmer was left out of the latest England squad, repeating his belief that the Chelsea star “misses too many opportunities to impress” for his country.

Palmer was on Friday the headline omission from Tuchel’s 25-man squad to contest this month’s Nations League fixtures against Croatia and Spain.

That was despite England staff checking with Chelsea on his fitness this week in the lead-up to the squad being finalised. Chelsea insist that Palmer is fit and was available for selection.
