Sarah Eckhardt movies: Texas comptroller acting career

Texas Comptroller-elect Sarah Eckhardt appeared in two films, including “Student Bodies” and “Things Change,” before building a career in politics.

Texas Comptroller-elect and Democratic State Sen. Sarah Eckhardt was a budding actress before launching a career in politics.

On Tuesday, Eckhardt, of Austin, defeated current Texas Comptroller Republican Don Huffines by a margin of 51% to 46%. Huffines was appointed to the position by Gov. Greg Abbott Aug. 1.

Before studying law and running for office, Eckhardt attended a performing arts high school in Houston and had two movie roles.
