Fears of tighter regulation on AI data center investments after the US midterm elections have rattled markets, sending South Korea’s benchmark Kospi below the 5,000 mark at one point during intraday trading Friday.

According to the Korea Exchange, the index closed at 5,059.69, down 6.02 percent from the previous session.
