Telus Corp. reported a loss in its third quarter as it took an $800-million non-cash charge related to Telus Health.

VANCOUVER — Telus Corp. reported a loss in its third quarter as it took an $800-million non-cash charge related to Telus Health.

The company says its loss attributable to common shares amounted to $667 million or 42 cents per share for the quarter ended Sept. 30 compared with a profit of $493 million or 32 cents per share a year ago.

On an adjusted basis, Telus says it earned 16 cents per share in its latest quarter compared with an adjusted profit of 24 cents per share in the same quarter last year.
