Championing young European talents who develop innovative technologies with scientific, economic, and social impacts is the aim of 'Innovators Under 35 Europe', an award organized by the MIT Technology Review Italia and presented at the Maker Faire Rome 2026 event at the Gazometro Ostiense complex in the Italian capital. Developed in collaboration with eFM and Opinno, and supported by Eni and ROAD (Rome Advanced District), the initiative has officially opened with a European call for applications to identify leading innovators under the age of 35. Submissions will be accepted until May 15, 2027. Participants will be evaluated in relation to nine impact areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, climate technology, and cybersecurity. At the end of the process, 35 winners will be selected. The awards ceremony will take place for the first time in Italy in the autumn of 2027."With 'Innovators Under 35 Europe' we aim to build a European community of innovators capable of identifying and bringing to the fore the talent that will build the future of our society," said Daniele Di Fausto, the CEO and Chairman of the MIT Technology Review Italia. The launch was part of the Maker Faire Rome fair, an event dedicated to innovation and the intersection of research, startups, and the business world, which took place October 23 to 25. Eni also participated in the event this year, the centenary of the founding of AGIP in 1926, with an exhibition exploring the development of industrial and energy innovation.
