The White House shared a photo of the prop on X, captioning it with shushing face and eyes emojis.

Donald Trump displayed a new version of his signature red hat on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office on Thursday, prompting mockery and criticism on social media.

Instead of the usual MAGA slogan, the cap bore just one word: “VETO.”

The stunt, during an executive order signing ceremony at which Trump designated the Oval Office and Cabinet Room as a national monument, came just days after the GOP’s projected loss of both the House and Senate in the 2026 midterm elections.
