Liquid AI is introducing LFM3, a family of compact AI models designed to move more enterprise work onto company-controlled hardware, with company-reported results suggesting its smallest text model can outperform substantially larger rivals on selected browser automation and software tool-use tasks.

The October 27 release includes six models spanning language, vision, speech and structured decisions. They share a 1.7-billion-parameter foundation, with specialized versions around 2 billion parameters. Liquid says enterprises can customize each using a single GPU and deploy them on devices, private servers or cloud infrastructure.

The pitch is particularly relevant to companies building repeatable workflows: routing requests, extracting information from documents, inspecting images or operating business applications. A smaller model that handles a defined job reliably could reduce dependence on remote AI services and give organizations more control over where inference happens.
