The Houthis have crossed multiple red lines. Their campaign of missile and drone attacks has killed civilians, struck critical infrastructure, deepened Yemen’s suffering, and destabilized a region already under severe strain. These actions constitute war crimes, violations of international humanitarian law, and direct threats to freedom of navigation and regional security. Iran, their closest strategic partner and principal external sponsor, possesses the leverage to halt this aggression and has a clear interest in doing so.
