At least seven people were killed and 100 injured after two trains collided in Egypt on Sunday (8 November), authorities said. Footage from the scene in al-Ayyat, in Giza province, shows damaged and derailed carriages, with emergency teams working at the site. The Transportation Ministry said one train rammed into the back of another, causing several carriages to derail. The crash happened about 52km south of Cairo, between a train heading for Fayoum and one bound for Aswan. The Health Ministry said one of the drivers was among the dead and that 72 ambulances took the injured to three hospitals. President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi ordered an investigation and said anyone proved negligent should be held accountable.
