A year of 'maxxing' and 'mogging'

We've reached that time in the calendar when international dictionaries start announcing their respective "words of the year". The most recent was revealed by Collins English Dictionary which has come up with "mogging" as its chosen word. I thought it might be something to do with cats (moggies) but was well off the mark. It is defined as "to outshine, outperform or upstage someone" particularly in appearance or style.
