Texas' Democratic Gov.-elect Gina Hinojosa pledges bipartisan governing
Associated Press ·
Texas Gov.-elect Gina Hinojosa says she is building a bipartisan administration after her stunning upset in the midterm elections. Hinojosa said Tuesday that people are “tired of the culture wars” in her first news conference since her historic victory over Republican Gov. Greg Abbott. Hinojosa will become Texas' first Latina governor when she takes office in January. Her agenda will be tested in a divided Texas Legislature, where Republicans also lost the state House but still control the Senate.
