The rapid spread of water hyacinths in rivers and waterways has become an environmental concern, threatening aquatic ecosystems by reducing oxygen levels in the water and contributing to deterioration in water quality. While removing the invasive plants from waterways is one way to tackle the problem, finding alternative uses for them could offer a more sustainable solution.
